Especially for Faith Communities

Do you want to enrich your congregation's worship life?
Do you want to deepen your connection to scripture?
Do you want to enliven your preaching?
Do you want to create a vibrant faith community?
Do you want to enhance your religious education program?

Storytelling connects people, forms community, opens hearts and engages the spirit like nothing else.

With your group of pastors, religious educators, and/or congregation members, you will experience the power of storytelling and will explore connections between biblical story, traditional tale, and one's own lifestory. Pam guides you to:

  • learn techniques for learning and telling stories
  • develop confidence and discover your own storytelling gifts
  • listen for God in the dialogue between story and life.

Pam says, "Together, we can explore the many possible roles of storytelling in your faith community: pastoral, prophetic, fellowship, preaching, and educational...the possibilities may be endless!"

About Pam

Pam is a life-long Lutheran (now ELCA), has been a church musician since high school, and received her B.A. in Music with teacher certification from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. She received her M. Div. from Iliff School of Theology in Denver, a progressive seminary of the United Methodist Church with a richly ecumenical environment.

Pam offers programs and workshops in biblical storytelling, as well as explorations of how biblical, personal, and traditional tales illumine and enrich each other, and the individuals and communities who share them.

Testimonials

"Pam Faro is an exceptionally gifted biblical storyteller with a commanding sense of presence. She is able to take ancient texts and find and give lively expression to them so that they live and breathe again with the kind of vitality, humor, passion and earnestness they possessed when they were first told. Pam is a scholar who approaches her study of the stories of scripture from an informed, critical perspective. She is also a person of faith, who tells the stories faithfully—both in the sense of honoring her responsibility to sacred texts and in the sense telling the stories out of a faithful life." —Dennis Dewey, Executive Director, Network of Biblical Storytellers

"As a student of Hebrew and Greek, Pam has experienced the stories in their original languages as well as in English or Spanish for that matter. Whatever the language, she makes it possible to experience the power and grace of the stories. Whether with children or adults, rich or poor, people of oral, literate or digital culture—Pam makes the stories of God unforgettable." —Tom Boomershine, G. Ernest Thomas Professor of Christianity and Communication, United Theological Seminary
